OnMyWay
About OnMyWay
OnMyWay is developing a digital platform that connects people along routes they already plan to travel – for shared rides, the carriage of suitable parcels and, in the future, professional coordination.
The OnMyWay app is currently being prepared. Its release for iOS and Android will follow at a later date.
The idea behind OnMyWay
Every day, many people travel routes that partly overlap with the journeys of others. At the same time, passengers look for a suitable ride and senders look for a way to have an eligible parcel carried along an existing route. OnMyWay is designed to make these overlaps visible and useful.
The route is at the centre of the platform. Users enter their own starting point, destination and other relevant details. On this basis, OnMyWay can display possible matches by considering the route and any additional detour that may be required. Matching is a technical decision aid; it does not guarantee a match or the completion of a ride or parcel carriage.
How matching works
OnMyWay is designed to facilitate contact without making the decision about a ride or parcel on behalf of its users.
- A driver independently plans a route and adds it to OnMyWay.
- The platform can then display suitable ride or parcel requests along that route.
- The driver decides whether to send an offer to an interested person or accept a request.
- Passengers and senders decide whether to accept or reject an offer they receive.
- The participating users agree the specific conditions and practical arrangements directly with each other.
Shared rides and cost contributions
Drivers independently decide which route to take, whom to carry and under which lawful conditions a shared ride may take place. OnMyWay does not assign drivers and does not operate its own vehicles.
Where a cost contribution is proposed for a ride, its amount is proposed by the driver. OnMyWay does not determine the price and, in the currently planned first version, does not collect, hold or transfer user payments for rides. The agreement and payment take place directly between the participating users.
The planned initial version of the platform is intended to be offered without a platform commission. If a paid service is introduced later, its price and conditions will be communicated transparently before it is used.
Parcels along existing routes
Where this feature is expressly available, OnMyWay can connect users who wish to send a suitable parcel with drivers who are willing to carry it along a route they already plan to travel.
The participating users agree the nature and extent of the carriage, handover, receipt and any cost contribution directly with each other. OnMyWay is not a parcel service, courier company or carrier, does not take possession of parcels and does not perform their transport itself.
Senders and drivers must comply with the laws, prohibitions and transport restrictions applicable to the parcel and route. This includes ensuring lawful contents, accurate information, suitable packaging and safe handover. Prohibited, dangerous or unlawful items must not be arranged or carried through OnMyWay.
The role of the platform
OnMyWay provides technical functions for route entry, matching, contact and coordination. OnMyWay does not itself transport passengers or parcels and is generally not a party to the transport arrangement concluded between users.
The decision to cooperate and the practical performance, suitability, lawfulness and compensation remain the responsibility of the participating users. OnMyWay cannot guarantee that a match will be found for every route or that an agreed ride or parcel carriage will actually be completed.
Nothing in this description limits any mandatory statutory rights of users or any mandatory statutory duties or liability of the platform operator. The binding rules for use are set out in the applicable Terms of Use.
Our principles
- Route-based matching: Existing journeys and available capacity should be brought together more effectively.
- User autonomy: Users decide with whom and under which lawful conditions they arrange a ride or carriage.
- Transparency: OnMyWay’s technical role should remain clearly separated from the transport actually performed by users.
- Safety and legality: Protective features, clear rules and responsible conduct should support safer use.
- Step-by-step development: New features and regions will be offered only after the relevant technical and legal requirements have been considered.
Current status
OnMyWay is under development and will be released gradually. Individual features may change before or after release and may be available differently depending on the country, region, platform or app version.
The descriptions on this page explain the concept and planned direction of OnMyWay. They do not guarantee a particular set of features, availability or release date. The functions actually provided in the current version and the applicable Terms of Use are decisive.
Operator and legal information
OnMyWay is a digital product operated by Andrii Tvardovskyi, a sole proprietor established in Germany. Complete provider information, information about data processing and the binding rules for use are available in the Legal Notice, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
