Last updated: 14 September 2026

Request account deletion

To request permanent deletion of your OnMyWay account and associated personal data, send an email to contact@onmyway.dev using the button below. Please include the email address of the account concerned.

We may verify your identity before processing the request in order to protect against unauthorized deletion.

Request account deletion

Or write directly to contact@onmyway.dev

1. What you can do on this page

On this page, you can request permanent deletion of your OnMyWay account and the personal data associated with it.

Deletion is final. A fully deleted account cannot be restored.

2. Before deletion

Before submitting the request, please check whether you have any ongoing rides, transport requests, agreements, reports or appeals. Where possible, open organizational matters should be completed or cancelled first.

Account deletion does not automatically terminate private agreements, payment claims or other obligations arising directly between you and another user. OnMyWay does not itself process payments between users.

3. Identity verification

To protect against unauthorized deletion, we may verify that the request comes from the account holder. We may ask you to confirm details that only the account holder would know, or to respond from the registered email address.

OnMyWay personnel will never ask for your password by email, telephone or message. Do not send passwords in the deletion request.

If you no longer have access to the registered email address, please explain this in your message to contact@onmyway.dev. We may request reasonable proof of identity.

4. Data that will be deleted or anonymized

Following a valid deletion request, and unless a legal exception applies, we delete or anonymize in particular:

  • the OnMyWay user account and authentication association;
  • profile and contact information;
  • stored sessions and notification identifiers;
  • ride, route, vehicle, transport and request data associated with the account;
  • other personal content that is clearly associated with the account.

Information that you disclosed directly to other users outside OnMyWay may remain with those persons and cannot be deleted by OnMyWay.

5. Processing time

We process a valid deletion request without undue delay and generally within one month.

If the request is exceptionally complex or a large number of requests are being processed at the same time, the period may be extended by up to two additional months in accordance with Article 12(3) GDPR. In that case, we will inform you of the extension and the reasons for it within the first month.

6. Data retained temporarily or exceptionally

Certain data may remain temporarily after account deletion:

  • Reports and appeals, including associated processing and audit records, may continue to be processed until finally closed and are generally deleted or anonymized 90 days after final closure, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Personal data concerning a completed account-deletion request is generally deleted or anonymized 90 days after completion, subject to legal exceptions. Thereafter, only anonymized proof or proof that cannot be attributed to an individual may remain.
  • Isolated backups remain separated from normal production access and are not used for ordinary operations. They are overwritten or deleted according to the infrastructure provider’s backup retention schedule.
  • Data may be retained for longer where a statutory retention obligation applies or where necessary to prevent misuse or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Processing is restricted to that purpose.

7. Consequences of deletion

Once deletion is complete, account access and refresh are disabled. You can no longer sign in with the deleted account. Previous data, matches and settings cannot be restored.

An already issued short-lived access token may remain technically valid until it expires. It cannot renew access after refresh has been disabled.

If you want to use OnMyWay again later, you must create a new account. A new account will not restore deleted content or previous associations.

8. Confirmation

Your email request should clearly state that you are requesting permanent deletion of the OnMyWay account and its associated personal data.

Where technically possible, you will receive confirmation that deletion has been completed.

9. Privacy and contact

Further information about processing of your data, retention periods and your rights is available in the OnMyWay Privacy Policy.
